Allyson Healey's life is exactly like her suitcase—packed, planned, ordered. Then on the last day of her three-week post-graduation European tour, she meets Willem. A free-spirited, roving actor, Willem is everything she’s not, and when he invites her to abandon her plans and come to Paris with him, Allyson says yes. This uncharacteristic decision leads to a day of risk and romance, liberation and intimacy: 24 hours that will transform Allyson’s life.

A book about love, heartbreak, travel, identity, and the accidents” of fate, Just One Day shows us how sometimes in order to get found, you first have to get lost. . . and how often the people we are seeking are much closer than we know. (Goodreads)
This book wasn't at all what I was expecting, I would say my rating is closer to a 3.5 than a 4. Not that this wasn't a good book, it just wasn't what I was in the mood for. I expected an epic love story when it is really more about self discovery. I wasn't a big fan of either of the main characters, Allyson was kind of annoying and I felt no attraction for Willem, he just seemed like a player and a crumb bum! ha The love story that did exist in the story wasn't my favourite, I just felt like it wasn't realistic and it ended so abruptly. We were left with no answers at the end!

That all being said, I did really like the writing style of the story and I liked Allyson's friend Dee ( I think that was his name :S) He was really a breath of fresh air in this story. There were some cry quotable moments in this book. The first half of the book was the winner for me, I must say, I was really enjoying it until she left Europe, then it all went down hill!

I would recommend this book if you are looking for a good self discovery book, however if you're in search of a love story, I would say keep looking!

Sooo.... this isn't a love story
