Harper Price, peerless Southern belle, was born ready for a Homecoming tiara. But after a strange run-in at the dance imbues her with incredible abilities, Harper's destiny takes a turn for the seriously weird. She becomes a Paladin, one of an ancient line of guardians with agility, super strength and lethal fighting instincts.

Just when life can't get any more disastrously crazy, Harper finds out who she's charged to protect: David Stark, school reporter, subject of a mysterious prophecy and possibly Harper's least favorite person. But things get complicated when Harper starts falling for him--and discovers that David's own fate could very well be to destroy Earth.

With snappy banter, cotillion dresses, non-stop action and a touch of magic, this new young adult series from bestseller Rachel Hawkins is going to make y'all beg for more. (Goodreads)
ERMAHGERD!!!

I loved this book! Wow, it wasn't at all what I expected! I listened to it on audibook and it made such a great audiobook I felt like I was watching a movie as I listened. This story has such a strange concept but it worked really well and was very entertaining.

I really liked all of the characters in the book. Harper was fantastic, although, it was a little strange how okay she was with how her life had changed! If it were me, I would be freaking out! David was just so snarky, but it the cutest way. I loved Ryan and B too, they were great side characters. Sailor was awesome as well! I even enjoyed the characters you were meant to hate!

There was a lot of information to take in when reading this book in regards to paladins and oracles etc, but I found that the pacing of the information was great. It gave it to you piece by piece rather than all at once which was perfect. I felt like I was learning about all the magical elements a the same time as Harper.

There were so many twists and turns in this book I never felt like there was a dull moment. It was so much fun! I love to see girls kick butt and overall I thought this book was fantastic! I for sure recommend it!

Dear Harper... haha
All the girls for cotillion
