Juliette hasn’t touched anyone in exactly 264 days.

The last time she did, it was an accident, but The Reestablishment locked her up for murder. No one knows why Juliette’s touch is fatal. As long as she doesn’t hurt anyone else, no one really cares. The world is too busy crumbling to pieces to pay attention to a 17-year-old girl. Diseases are destroying the population, food is hard to find, birds don’t fly anymore, and the clouds are the wrong color.

The Reestablishment said their way was the only way to fix things, so they threw Juliette in a cell. Now so many people are dead that the survivors are whispering war – and The Reestablishment has changed its mind. Maybe Juliette is more than a tortured soul stuffed into a poisonous body. Maybe she’s exactly what they need right now.

Juliette has to make a choice: Be a weapon. Or be a warrior. (Goodreads)
I enjoyed this book, it didn't however quite live up to all the hype I have heard around it! That could also be because I chose to listen to the audiobook rather than read the physical copy. The book was full of love and romance, which I of course love! However, I would have liked some more action! I've heard the series gets better with the next books and I am looking forward to learning more about the characters.

Overall i liked Juliette as a main character, I found she reacted very realistically to a lot of different situations. I liked her more and more as the story went along. I wasn't crazy about Adam, I know there is a lot of hype around Team Adam vs Team Warner, and without even reading the novella Destroy Me, I already know I will be team Warner...if I am team anyone at all! Only time will tell whose side I'm on! I enjoyed the side characters, but wish I could have learnt a bit more about them.

Overall i really enjoyed this book and I am looking forward to continuing on with the series!

.... Every time someone tried to touch Juliette in the book this went through my head
4/5 Albi Cats
